The U15s finished their season on a high with a good victory in an entertaining game against East Kilbride, who were visiting on an end of season tour.

Kendal started strongly and after a EK line out went wrong, a barnstorming run from Will took Kendal to the 5 metre line and there was no stopping Logan from that distance as he charged through for a try in the second minute. After 5 mins, Kendal extended their lead to 8-0 through a penalty kick from Tristan.
That lead was extended in the 10th minute through a well worked 5 metre line out routine which allowed Kurt to barge his way through on the left wing.
East Kilbride then came much more into the game for the second half of the opening 20mins as they appeared to overcome the tiredness of the weekend’s activities, and only some last gasp cover tackling from Casper and Olly and strong goal line defence from Alex, Leo and Caleb prevented them from scoring, so the first 20 minute period ending with Kendal leading 13-0.
That lead was extended to 20-0 after 3 minutes of the second period as the ball was moved across the full width of the pitch giving Tyler just enough space to beat his opposite winger for speed and race away from the cover defence to run round and score under the posts.
East Kilbride finally got the try that their good play deserved, with a powerful run from their prop who charged in from 20 yards to narrow the score to 20-7.
Kendal eased any fears of a fight back though with the best try of the game from Ed; again the ball was moved the full width of the pitch and great interplay and speed from Tyler and Ed allowed him to race down the wing and underneath the posts for a 27-7 lead.
East Kilbride then got their second try in the final minute of the second 20 minutes after good inter-passing by the forwards, meaning the final third would start with Kendal leading 27-12.
The lead was narrowed almost immediately after the restart through a great team try to make the score 27-17.
Kendal then eased the pressure going into the final ten minutes when a goal line drop out was caught by Roan and he fended off a few would be tacklers to score under the posts.
East Kilbride retained a lot of possession in the final 10 minutes but it wasn’t until the final minute that they got their third try after being camped in Kendal’s 22 for several minutes.
There was still time for re-start, which was kicked deep and when the EK full back tried to clear his lines; he kicked it straight to Joe who drove towards the posts and quick recycled ball allowed Alfie to jink his way through for the final score of the game (and the season) to give Kendal a 41-22 victory.
An excellent game of rugby to finish the season off, with lots of great skill, attitude and teamwork on display with all players from both teams putting in a good performance.
