This month’s draw was made by the President of Wirral RUFC at Saturday’s game. If you missed it, you missed a cracking good start to the season. Maybe not the result we wanted, but nevertheless very good rugby and entertainment and also a lot of good work to build upon.
I was aware that the Wirral hierarchy were wearing ties which were dark blue and silver (I think) and not maroon and white, which are Wirral’s colours. I made a few discrete enquiries and discovered that they have home and away ties! Now there’s posh!!
I also remember watching Kendal play at Wirral in Wirral's home strip and Wirral playing in their away strip after the Kendal team's strip was "forgotten"!
As a result of your continuing support, I am pleased to announce that the 200 Club has donated £1000 to the main pitch repair appeal.
The winner this month is
number 56 Peter Haworth.
He’s a long-time supporter. However, I have lost contact with him. He lived at Sandside and then moved to somewhere near Kirkby Stephen. If anyone knows of his whereabouts, or even if he is reading this, please contact me so he can receive his cheque.
