Here's a Q&A Session with new signing Hugh from yesterday evening. Let's hope we can see him in our club colours soon!

1. Name/Nickname and age? - Hugh Davies / Beer Swiggin’ / 30
2. Height and 'fighting' weight? – 1.75m / 120kg
3. Nationality / Place of birth? – Dual: British & Australian / Ascot, England
4. Schools, colleges, universities attended? – Scotch College, Perth, University of Notre Dame, Australia, Quantum College, Australia
5. Current job outside the club? – Pastoral Care
6. When did you first start playing rugby? - Age 11 at school
7. Player that’s inspired you to play rugby when you were younger? - Bill Young (Aus), Os Du Randt (S.A.)
8. What made you sign for Kendal? – Moved home to this area
9. Previous clubs and positions played? – Scotch College (Aus), The Cottesloe School (Aus), Greenock (Sco)
10. How have you kept active during lockdown? - Running 5k’s with the dog, Home Gym
11. The best player you’ve played with? - Nick Haining (Edinburgh & Scotland)
12. Most memorable game you've been involved in, and why? - A 10’s competition in Bali (Indonesia). A proper lads tour, where we were mostly hammered, even when we won the Bowl in the repêchage competition, much to the amazement of the other players who watched us mostly lying around the pitches in a drunken stupor!
13. What would success look like for you next season? - As a team player, a good season for the team. Personally, measuring myself by scrummaging performance, a solid season at prop, through making my opposite number’s life ‘difficult’
14. Have you got any personal goals you want achieve whilst playing? - To enjoy!
15. Highest rugby honour achieved, and/or most prestigious league played in? - Honours at school, including Captain’s role and played for Western Australia in state competition

17. Favourite team (not your club)? - Western Force (Aus)
18. How has Covid-19 affected your family and your job? - Apart from missing the gym and using the clubhouse, not at all!
19. You're in lockdown. Which CD (music) and DVD (film / series) would you have to help pass the time? – Bob Marley’s Greatest Hits / Die Hard 1
20. Favourite tipple? - Peroni
21. Favourite holiday venue? - Croatia
22. Other sport you've excelled in? – Water Polo, Olympic Lifting
23. Other interests? – Fell Walking
24. Anything else do you want to share? – My partner Sophie has joined the Wasps (watch this space for the next player Bio!) and I’m a qualified Animator...
